Everest Collective’s purpose

Better leaders. Better teams. Better world.

We believe leadership changes everything. Better leaders build better teams. Better teams build organizations that perform, and an organization that performs with purpose makes life better for the families and communities around it.

Everest Collective is a Dallas–Fort Worth leadership and culture firm founded by two former executives. We help leaders build connected teams that are clear on what matters most and able to execute it, starting with a custom executive leadership retreat.

Why we exist

Leadership changes the trajectory of everything.

An open Texas ranch field at sundown

The organizations we walk into are full of capable, hard-working people who have drifted apart, from each other, from the mission and from what matters most. You can see it in the silos, in meetings that stay polite while the real issues go unsaid, and in effort spread across so many priorities that very little moves.

A lot of these teams have already tried an offsite. They left energized, with a long list of good ideas, and by the following Wednesday the list was buried under the week’s work. We exist to help leaders build connection, clarity and alignment across their teams, and to make the priorities that come out of that work simple, clear and executable.

Broadly, we are a business consulting firm. We believe every company exists to serve a purpose, and we help leaders reach it with three tools: leadership, culture and technology, including AI. Each is only as useful as the problem it solves, so we always start with the outcome you want and what’s standing in the way.

“Great leaders build great teams. Great teams build great companies. And better companies build a better world.”

Our mission

Help leaders discover the greatness within so they can bring out the greatness in others.

Your guides

Two former executives. Every retreat.

We’ve sat in your seat. We owned the P&L, reported to boards and built culture inside multi-billion-dollar companies before we started Everest, and we facilitate every retreat ourselves.

Mike Fromhold
“I would not be the leader I am today without Mike Fromhold. He has led multi-billion-dollar divisions and served as a CEO, and I watched him lead our executive team through COVID, with markets like Los Angeles, New York and D.C. in crisis. We grew anyway. Years later, the people on that team still call it the best team they have ever been part of. That is what Mike builds.”

Mike Fromhold

Co-founder · former CEO

Mike spent 15 years rising from an entry-level role to senior executive at a multi-billion-dollar company, with P&L responsibility for billions in revenue. He then ran a smaller company in the same industry as CEO before co-founding Everest. He knows what it’s like to carry the number, answer to a board and try to get a large team pulling in one direction.

At Everest he leads sales, business development and operations, and he hosts the podcast Leaders Worth Following. In the room, Mike turns big ideas into three things a team can act on Monday.

Faith

Mike’s faith in God is at the center of how he leads. He believes Jesus showed the world what leadership looks like: serving first, telling the truth with grace, and caring more about people than position. Mike won’t claim he gets it right every day. He makes the effort to lead that way anyway, at home with his wife and their five children, and in every room Everest facilitates.

Kokoro 53

In March 2019 Mike completed Kokoro 53, SEALFIT’s 50-hour crucible built on Navy SEAL training.

Brittany Tipton
“You (Brittany) and Mike do a fantastic job and I recommend that people hire Everest Collective and get to work.”

Brittany Tipton

Co-founder · former EVP

Brittany ran more than $200 million in enterprise national accounts and built the culture consulting arm of a multi-billion-dollar business. She has facilitated culture and leadership work across retail, telecom, nonprofit, healthcare and academia.

At Everest she leads culture strategy, retreat facilitation and client delivery. Brittany gets people talking and keeps the whole room moving forward. Her rule for every leadership team: talk to people, not about people.

A competitor first

Before her business career, Brittany played collegiate soccer.

Learning from Edgar Schein

Brittany had the opportunity to work with Edgar Schein, one of the founders of the field of organizational culture, in the last two years of his life. She brings his decades of research into the work, applied to the business results leaders are chasing.

What we believe

The beliefs behind the work.

It starts with listening. We interview every leader before we write a word of the agenda.

Leadership is the greatest multiplier in any organization.

Every gain in how a leader leads shows up many times over in the people who follow them.

Culture exists to drive the business result.

Every company exists for a purpose. Culture either helps you get there or holds you back, so every engagement starts with the objective the leader is trying to reach.

Culture is what people experience on an ordinary Tuesday.

Leaders shape it far more than any values statement or poster on the wall.

The leader goes first.

Culture shifts when leadership behavior shifts, which is why our work begins with the senior leader and what success looks like to them.

Connection creates commitment.

Clarity creates confidence, and alignment creates momentum. That order is the arc of every retreat we run.

A plan only matters if it gets executed.

Two or three priorities the team wrote itself will beat a long list someone handed down.

What we don’t do

Straight about what we are.

  • No cookie-cutter retreats. Every agenda is built from one-on-one discovery with the leaders who will be in the room.
  • No life coaching, therapy or motivational speeches.
  • No culture work for its own sake. Every engagement ties to the business results you’re working toward.
  • No promises of overnight change or guaranteed numbers.
  • No talent or staffing services, and no taking on work that isn’t a good fit.
Our vision

A world filled with leaders worth following.
