Why leaders book us

Ideas we used to scale real companies.

Everything we speak about, we practiced first. Mike led multi-billion-dollar divisions and served as a CEO. Brittany ran more than $200 million in national accounts and built a culture consulting practice inside a multi-billion-dollar business. Along the way we used these ideas to scale companies, grow organically, develop leaders and build cultures that delivered the results the business needed.

Every keynote pairs the idea with the story of how it worked for us, where it broke and what we would do again. Your people leave inspired and with two or three things they can put to work on Monday.

Keynote topics

How to build a culture that executes.

Sixteen talks in four themes. Pick one, or we combine a few into a keynote built for your audience.

01

Set the direction

Purpose, mission, vision and values everyone can carry.

  • Purpose people can repeatWhy your company exists, said simply enough that every person can repeat it and use it to make a decision.
  • A mission and vision that pull a team forwardA clear picture of where you are going and how you will get there, so effort stops scattering across a dozen priorities.
  • Values that show up in behaviorTurning values from a wall poster into the behaviors you hire for, coach to, promote and protect.
  • Clarity beats complexityA few priorities, each owned by name and measured every week, and meetings that end with decisions.
02

Build the team

Trust, candor and commitment at the top.

  • Trust starts at the topWhy the strongest teams begin with leaders who go first, admit what they don’t know and ask for help.
  • Healthy debate, real commitmentTeams that tell each other the truth, argue about ideas and then leave the room behind one decision.
  • Belonging and shared purposeThe everyday signals that tell people they are safe, they matter and they are part of something bigger than their job.
  • The right people around the tableWho you hire and keep shapes everything. How to spot humility, drive and good judgment with people, and how to act early when the fit is wrong.
03

Grow the people

Learning, ownership, appreciation and joy.

  • A culture that learnsPraise effort and progress, treat setbacks as information and keep raising the bar for how people grow.
  • Ownership without bossingLeaders who serve first, give people real authority and expect them to own the outcome.
  • Appreciation that landsRecognition people value, delivered the way each person hears it best, so your best people feel seen and stay.
  • Joy at workWorkplaces people want to come back to, built on shared purpose, collaboration and progress everyone can see.
04

Lead through it

Resilience, discipline, candor and character.

  • Resilience in hard seasonsLeading a team through adversity and coming out stronger, including how Mike’s executive team grew through COVID.
  • Discipline that compoundsSteady progress in good years and bad, and the early warning signs that a successful company is starting to slip.
  • Candor and better decisionsA team where the truth reaches decision makers fast and every call is made on the best thinking in the room.
  • What great leaders doCharacter, courage and clarity, and how leaders earn the right to be followed.
“Great leaders build great teams. Great teams build great companies. And better companies build a better world.”

Questions

Keynotes, answered.

What does an Everest keynote cover?

How to build an organizational culture that delivers results: a clear purpose, mission and vision, values that show up in behavior, teams that trust each other, accountability without bossing, and leaders who grow people. We build each talk around the topics that matter most to your audience.

Can you tailor a keynote to our company or event?

Yes. Every keynote starts with a conversation with you about your audience, your goals and what is happening in your organization. When it helps, we talk with a few of your people first so the stories and examples fit the room.

Do Mike and Brittany speak together?

Either can speak on their own, and many clients book them together. Mike speaks from the CEO and operator’s seat. Brittany speaks from years of building culture inside large organizations. Together they cover both the business and the people side of every topic.

Can a keynote lead into more work with our team?

Often it does. Some clients pair the keynote with a working session the same day. Others follow it with an executive leadership retreat, leadership development or a culture assessment.

Where do you speak?

We are based in Dallas–Fort Worth and speak at events across the country.
